El empleo de bacterias solubilizadoras de fosfato (BSP) para la solubilización de distintas rocas fosfatadas y de otras fuentes de fósforo es una alternativa para incrementar la cantidad de P disponible para las plantas. Se aislaron 147 BSP de la raíz y rizoplano de diferentes plantas cultivadas. El medio de cultivo denominado Medio Mínimo para Solubilización de Fosfato Colegio de Postgraduados con MgCl (MMSFCP-Mg) fue el más eficiente, debido a que en medio sólido se observaron halos de solubilización de hasta 3.8 cm a los catorce días, y en medio líquido se determinaron hasta 380 mg mL-1 de fosfato soluble a los seis días. Plant growth is limited in arid and/or contaminated sites due to the adverse conditions coming from heavy metal (HM) contamination and/or water stress. Moreover, soils from these areas are generally characterised by poor soil structure, low water-holding capacity, lack of organic matter and nutrient deficiency. In order to carry out a successful re-afforestation, it is necessary to improve soil quality and the ability of plants species to resist this harsh environment. Crops in general make poor use of phosphorous fertilizer and, as a result, recommended rates and production costs are very high. Phosphorus can be made more readily available to plants by proper management of phosphate fertilization, selecting both, type of fertilizer and application method. This study was carried out to evaluate the efficiency of the natural Gafsa rock phosphate and the triple superphosphate on dry matter production and P uptake by corn plants cultivated in a greenhouse. Non-conventional P sources for zebu cows in Brazil Scientia Agricola

To evaluate non-conventional phosphorus sources, a group of 400 Nellore cows mantained under pasture received a mineral mixture with different P sources (group I: superphosphate - 500 ppm P; group II: superphosphate - 340 ppm P plus rock phosphate Patos 160 ppm P; group III: superphosphate 340 ppm P plus dicalcium phosphate 160 ppm P; group IV - dicalcium phosphate 500 ppm P). There were no differences in pregnancy rate, calving rate and calving interval. A fluorine deposition in bone was observed for the treatments with superphosphate and rock phosphate (66.92 ± 15.53; 69.97 ± 6.5 and 64.05 ± 3.35% respectively for group I, II and III). Study on the response of rice, RD. 43 variety, grown on Ongkharak soil with residual lime to rates of phosphate calculated from P adsorption characteristics such as P adsorption capacity with the value of 802 mgP kg-1 (Pmax), half of Pmax (401 mg P kg-1), 0.2 mg P L-1 (398 mg P kg-1) and the rate of 157 mg P kg-1 recommended by DOA and to different types of phosphate fertilizer, including tripple super phosphate and rock phosphate was conducted. Fifteen days old rice seedling was transplanted in pot under greenhouse cover. Urea and KCl at the rates of 504 and 260 mg kg-1 were used as top dressing for all treatments and the former at the rate of 98 mg kg-1 was applied at flowering stage.
